I read two articles one was called Snakes on a Plane becomes a reality
after serpent found on airliner when a 10ft python was attached to the wing of
a plane and the other one was found in a passengers cabin and it was a 8 inch
corn snake. The second article was about World Rhino day: Number of rhinos
poached reaches record high. This was about the amount of rhinos poached ad
community’s coming together to stop rhino poaching.
In the article Snakes on a Plane becomes reality they give out helpful information
like how big the snake was and how many snakes there was and where the plane
was heading to when it got reported. The 10ft python hanging of the wing
died. 370 planes were delayed because of
the snakes so they had to search the planes incase there was more snakes on
those planes.
In the article It says that illegal poaching has increased by 5,000 per cent in South
Africa since 2007. There are fewer than 100 Sumatran rhinos left in the wild
today. Some worry they will become extinct like the western black rhinoceros in
2011. Edna said we have already got Vietnam and People’s Republic of China
signed memoranda of understanding.
They used all these statistics to give the readers more information
about the situation like on the article about Snakes on a Plane they said the
type and size of the snake and where the plane was heading to and where it
coming from. With the World rhino day they told us the type of rhino that was
nearly extinct and how many there was of them left in the wild. And they let
you know what countries are trying there best to stop it.
Each story covered the 5 W’s like in Snakes on a Plane article where was
leaving Sydney, heading to Tokyo, half way to Papua New Guinea. Who were
passengers and the authorities. What was a snake seeing a snake. On World Rhino
day the 5 w’s was (when) every year on the 22nd of September. (Who) WWF
and Edna Molewa, where South Africa.
I found out that both articles included statistics, quotes, 5 w’s,
headings and formal language. In the articles the writers included lots of
facts to inform the reader about the situation and event that was going on at
the time.
